Are the parts of your life harmonious?

Remember the definition for balance that I shared last week? How does it apply to your life? Do the various parts of your life make up a harmonious whole? If not, maybe it’s time to explore the priorities and proportions in your life.
So, by this definition, balance isn’t about an equal amount of things, but a harmonious proportion of the things that are the most important to you.
Here is that definition of Balance again. From the Encarta World English Dictionary.
Balance: “harmony: a state in which various parts form a satisfying and harmonious whole and nothing is out of proportion or unduly emphasized at the expense of the rest.”
I think the word proportion is really the key. We don’t need equal parts to have a balanced life. What we need, is the right amounts of the right things.
“Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.”
