So, what do you do with your spare time?

While doing some research for this edition I came across an article by Rick Nauert PHD, who shared a study evaluating the effects of having too little or too much spare time.

Who knew there were people that worried about having too much spare time.

Anyway, it was an interesting article and according to the study researchers determined that the ideal amount of spare time was somewhere in the middle. Well, I have to admit, I’m not surprised.

...create a workable schedule for the most important things in your life...

Do you schedule time to be early?

While working with a client who was often rushing and late to appointments, he told me that he didn’t appreciate the word “routine” because it made him think of being in a rut.

But without routine our lives can get chaotic and bring unwanted stress as we try to remember what we need to do and where we need to be each day.

The client decided that he was more comfortable with the term “schedule.” So together we created a workable schedule for all the things he wanted to enjoy in his life without feeling like he was in a rut.

If you want to create a workable schedule for the most important things in your life, check out chapter 10 of my book. If you don’t have a copy you can get one here: The Success Habit Secret.

Success Habit: Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
——————————————————-
Well, Mom’s special day is just around the corner, and that made me think about some of the advice she shared with me when I was young.

Some of her best advice was to always be early for appointments. Following her suggestion has served me well, whether it was for job interviews, client meetings or getting a good seat at events.

So, whether it’s arriving to a special celebration for mom, getting to work on time, or getting the best seat at an event, take a tip from winners like mom and arrive 15 minutes early.

FYI, the next Life Balance Workshop is scheduled for Phoenix on May 22nd. It’s only $25.00, but seating is limited so follow this link to reserve your seat while you can: Workshops.
